Whether it’s about Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, or cumulus clouds and butterfly migration, I write because I love it. There’s also a need for good content and a rabid fixation on research all the time including in the middle of a pandemic quarantine. In fact, people need to understand how these new technologies will affect their lives…especially if they can help us prevent or stop Covid-19 and future pandemics.

AI IN THE PANDEMIC

Of the fields I write about, AI is the most promising for positive impact. It helped track the Coronavirus out of Wuhan and has been used to scan mountains of scientific research to see if there’s an existing drug that might be a candidate as a virus cure. AI will play an increasing role in dealing with disease prevention, finding possible cures, discovering vaccine, and more. Much of that is in the future.

However, the future impact of AI in creating new drugs may be quite bright. A great deal of investment money is counting on that to be the case. For instance, while diagnosis of COVID-19 with CT scans is of questionable value right now, there is a tremendous future for AI detection of new diseases.
